Challenger wins in election for Adams County Clerk of the District Court

HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - UPDATE: There will be a new Clerk of the District Court for Adams County after Tuesday's primary election.

Challenger Amanda Bauer has defeated the current clerk Chrystine Setlik 1948 votes to 666.

Bauer is a five-year employee of the Clerk of the District Court office who challenged her current boss.

Setlik was looking for a third term in that office.

There was no one running for the nomination on the Democrat ticket, so Bauer will take over when the new term begins.

Challenger Amanda Bauer has taken a commanding lead in early results from voting for Clerk of the District Court in Adams County.

With 30% of precincts counted, Bauer has 606 votes, which is nearly 74% of the ballots cast. Setlik has 216 votes (26%).

Bauer is a five-year employee of the Clerk of the District Court office who challenged her current boss.

Setlik was looking for a third term in that office.

There was no one running for the nomination on the Democrat ticket, so Bauer would take over when the new term begins if the voting trend continues in her favor.
