Concert helps celebrate Salvation Army Month

HASTINGS, Neb (KSNB) - The month of May has been designated to commemorate charitable works done in communities by their local Salvation Army.

Major Dale Brandenburg of the Hastings Salvation Army says Congress has proclaimed May as Salvation Army Month. Brandenburg says Hastings Mayor Corey Stutte has followed suit, making the same proclamation for the city of Hastings.

Brandenburg say it is, in part, to recognize 126 consecutive years of service to the community of Hastings.

"It's only because of the people of Adams County," said Brandenburg. " We can't stay anywhere without the support of the community and this community is just fantastic."

Brandenburg says they will host a concert at the Hastings Salvation Army location featuring Glory Way Quartet. The gospel group will perform beginning at 7:00 p.m. It is free, a good will love donation will be accepted.
