Grand Island man arrested for DUI and child abuse following hit and run

GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) - A Grand Island man was arrested after putting five juveniles and others in danger.

Alan Rodriguez, 27, was arrested Sunday evening near South Locust Street after a hit-and-run incident.

That's when police determined he was intoxicated. There were five juveniles in his vehicle.

Rodriguez attempted resisting arrest twice, the second time was after he was already in handcuffs. Rodriguez took off running, tripped and fell on his face before police secured him. He's being charged with DUI, leaving the scene of an injury accident, resisting arrest and five counts of child abuse.
