AURORA, Neb. (KSNB) - Hamilton County's fair grounds held the 22nd annual Live Healthy Health Fair. The fair had everything from snacks, games, and even a masseuse.
The coordinator of the event wanted people to have fun, while learning about wellness. And they partnered up with another medical team to give inexpensive screenings.
"We like to be able to provide our community with different resources. So we have Bryan Mobile Health doing screenings here doing cardiovascular screenings," said Reeann Regier, the fair coordinator.
Bryan mobile health offered ultrasounds and various screenings to help detect health issues early.
Each screening ranged from 10 to 40 dollars. But for Bryan Health, the health fair is helping them reach more people than just their community.
"This health fair allows us to enhance that partnership with the smaller communities in Nebraska and bring those screenings to the community rather than people having to come to Lincoln for those," said Judy, an RN for Bryan Health.
And for Reiger, she hopes that people takeaway more than a full stomach and a goodie bag.
"That they will think about potentially what they could do differently than what they did before and encourage people to live the best way they can live regardless of the age or the stage of their life," said the coordinator.
