LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) -- A redshirt freshman wide receiver will miss the entire 2017 season for the Nebraska football team after injuring his knee during a blocking drill.

Head Coach Mike Riley revealed the news about Jaevon McQuitty on Thursday morning.

“We were doing a blocking drill the other day and Jaevon McQuitty hurt his knee and will need surgery, so he will be out for the year” Riley said.

McQuitty joins senior cornerback Chris Jones on the notable preseason injury list.
