Making sure animals are ready for adoption

HASTINGS, Neb (KSNB) - When animals are brought to the attention of Heartland Pet Connection in Hastings, they aren't always immediately ready for adoption. One example is a five-year-old English Fox Hound mix dog that appeared on Local4 News at 11:30 with manager Jenny Theesen of Heartland.

Theesen said that George was brought to them overweight, checking in at 106 pounds. After a regiment of diet and exercise, he now weighs 72 pounds and is ready for a new home, preferably one without children.

Theesen said Heartland Pet Connection doesn't mind spending the extra time needed with animals to make sure they are fully ready to be adopted.

Anyone interested in George, or any other possible pet for adoption is encouraged to be in contact with Heartland Pet Connection. More information can be found on their web site.
