HASTINGS, Neb. -- An accident in Tuesday afternoon closed off traffic near W 4th Street and Lincoln Avenue for about an hour, but nobody was seriously injured.

Authorities said a Jeep Cherokee was traveling north on Lincoln Avenue near W 4th Street when a westbound SUV failed to yield.

Police said the SUV clipped the rear end of the Jeep, causing it to spin and eventually roll onto its top.

The driver of the Jeep, a male, had to be extricated with the "Jaws of Life," but was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said the driver of the Jeep was wearing a seat belt, which likely helped him avoid more serious injuries. The driver of the SUV was also wearing a seat belt and avoided injury.

Authorities blocked off W 4th Street and Lincoln Avenue and kept people from coming down Lincoln Avenue for about an hour.
