No injuries after explosion at Hornady Manufacturing

GRAND ISLAND, Neb. -- On June 19, 2016 at approximately 3:05 am deputies responded to 3625 West Old Potash at Hornady Manufacturing, for a possible fire.

Deputies observed a small fire south of the business upon arrival. Preliminary reports indicate that the contents in one of the storage containers exploded, launching the container approximately 50 ft to the west near Claude Rd. It is unknown what was inside the container at this time.

At this time, no injuries are reported and no one was reported to be inside the building at the time of this incident.

Deputies assisted with traffic control along with the Grand Island Police Department. This incident is being investigated by the Nebraska State Fire Marshals Office.
