SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. (KNEP) - A Scottsbluff man is behind bars for the alleged sexual assault of a 14 year old girl over a two year period.
Derek W. Fresorger, 31, was arrested Tuesday for first degree sexual assault of a child following investigation of a child abuse/neglect report to the state Department of Health and Human Services.
According to court documents, a forensic CAPstone interview took place Sept. 5, during which the victim said Fresorger subjected her to sexual, physical and verbal abuse. The following morning, the victim told investigators with the Scotts Bluff County Sheriff's Department that she feared Fresorger and the sexual contact had been taking place for the past two years. The arrest affidavit also says the victim told investigators the suspect had told her not to talk with detectives during a call through her mother's cell phone the previous night.
Court records indicate a sexual assault exam took place, as well as the gathering of evidence from the girl's bedroom.
Detectives interviewed Fresorger the following day, during which he denied having had any sexual contact with the girl. The suspect failed to show up for an additional interview two days later, but was taken into custody on an unrelated drug charge Sept. 11.
On Sept. 12, Fresorger was arrested on the sexual assault charge following an interview by the Nebraska State Patrol and lodged into the Scotts Bluff County Detention Center.
