Summer activities fill calendar at Hastings Library

HASTINGS, Neb (KSNB) - A special visit from an area science center will highlight upcoming activities at the Hastings Public Library. Marketing director Morgan Karel says that representatives of the Edgerton Explorit Center in Aurora will be in the library Tuesday, June 19 at 10:00 a.m. for a presentation on "Fundamentals of Sound".

Karel says it's a presentation that can appeal to just about everyone.

"We hope everyone feels free to come in and enjoy it," said Karel. "We go more towards kids, but everybody is welcome".

Library personnel will have recommended books that tie into the theme of the presentation on display to recommend.

Other activities coming up at the library include free movies every Thursday at 1:00 p.m. and reading time throughout the week. Karel says it's their goal to have student read 20 minutes a day during the summer to stay sharp for the next school year.

The month wraps up with off-site fun for the adults. The fourth Thursday of every month is Pub Trivia. This month they will be at Bullseye in Hastings on the 28th for '70's music trivia.
