KEARNEY, Neb. --- Talk about an NBA schedule! The Stars of Kearney Catholic have one this week.

The Stars defeated Centura 69-56 Saturday in the Lou Platte championship game in Gibbon. Monday they knocked off Doniphan-Trumbull 56-44 to go 15-6

Tuesday they play at Centura in a regular season game for the second time in four days and Thursday the KCHS Stars will meet Arcadia-Loup City back at home. They'll close the regular season February 17th against Adams Central.

So now is a good time to get hot with the district tournament right ahead of them.

The program had a coaching change toward the beginning of the season but now that seems like ancient history.

No doubt about it, the Kearney Catholic Stars seem to be finding their groove at the right time. We'll see how far they can go.

Rick Petri's girls program at Kearney Catholic is still unbeaten at 22-0 this year with a good shot at repeating as Class C-1 state champions.

Tournament time is almost here.
