Republican race for Scotts Bluff Co. Clerk a dead heat

GERING, Neb. (KNEP) - The Republican race for Scotts Bluff County Clerk too close to call by the end of primary election night.

Literally a single vote separating Pamela Schleve-Cassels and Kelly Sides, both ending with 30% of the vote. Provisional votes and a likely recount to determine the winner.

No Democrats filed for the office, but the Republican winner will have a challenger for November.

Libertarian Kurt Zadina was unopposed, and also moves on to the general election.

The winner will take over for outgoing County Clerk Vera Dulaney, who has one more election to oversee as election commissioner before stepping down.
