GERING, Neb. (KSNB) - The Hastings Sodbusters entered the ninth-inning tied with the Western Nebraska Pioneers at 11. The offense then exploded for 9-runs, capped off by a grand slam from Grant Schmidt to win, 20-11.

It’s the Sodbusters fourth-straight win to get them back to .500. They are now 6-6 on the year. The team combined for 15 hits with Schmidt leading the team with 5 RBIs.

Shay Schanaman started the game for Hastings. He went 3.2 innings striking out nine batters.

Sodbusters look for the series sweep tomorrow in Gering. First pitch set for 7:35 pm CT.
