Grand Island man arrested for domestic assault
Woman receives multiple injuries
GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) - A Grand Island man, reportedly with a prior history of domestic assault, is in the Hall County Correctional Center after injuring a woman.
According to Grand Island police reports, the woman reported to police Wednesday that the man had punched her and hit her with a flashlight and a staple gun. Injuries listed as a result included a fractured nose, fractured arm and cuts to her head and arms.
The man also allegedly put his hands on her throat and also covered her face with a towel and sweatshirt, making it difficult to breathe.
The suspect, identified in the report as Alex Conn, ran from police as they attempted to approach him at a grocery store. They were able to catch him a couple of blocks away.
Conn was arrested for first degree domestic assault, strangulation or suffocation, use of a weapon to commit a felony and resisting arrest.
