Sutton takes two from Doniphan-Trumbull

HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Sutton improved to 14-1 on the season after sweeping Doniphan-Trumbull in a doubleheader in Doniphan Wednesday night.

In game one, Sutton scored three runs in the first inning and never looked back. The Mustangs would go on to win it 12-0 in just five innings.

Garrett Bonnell was dominant on the mound for Sutton, going the distance without giving up a run. Bonnell struck out six batters and allowed just two hits in the game.

Game two started much closer, as the Cardinals were clinging on to a 5-2 lead after three innings.

The bats would get going in the fourth for the Mustangs though. They score 13 runs in the inning and go on to cruise to a 17-5 win.
