HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Friday will be a warmer day as temperatures climb into the mid to upper 80 and lower 90s for Central and Eastern Nebraska. There will be a little more heat out west with mid to upper 90s. Much of the day will be quiet with mostly sunny skies. Thunderstorms are more likely to develop late in the day in South Dakota and push southeastward through Northern, then Eastern Nebraska. This will be a greater chance for severe weather than Thursday night, but the better chance may end out being just north and east of the Tri-Cities. Damaging wind gusts will once again be the biggest threat, but some large hail and isolated tornado threat does exist.

Some showers and thunderstorms may linger into early Saturday morning. The day will start with lows in the mid to upper 60s. By the afternoon, expect a little more clearing. Highs on Saturday will reach the mid to upper 80s and lower 90s.

Sunday will be a dry day with mainly sunny skies. Highs will be in the mid to upper 80s and lower 90s.

Monday and Tuesday will feature a little more heat. Most will see highs into the 90s on Monday. Tuesday will depend on the timing of an approaching cold front. This may mean highs in the north will only be in the 80s with in Northern Kansas, 100°+ is possible. Each day will hold a chance of thunderstorms, although the better chances may come Tuesday night with the cold front. Wednesday will be cooler with highs mostly in the 80s. Wednesday should be a dry day.
