HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Storms may still be possible fore portions of Southwest Nebraska into North Central Kansas this evening, but most chances will diminish after sunset. Lows tonight will drop into the 60s across much of Nebraska.

A little more heat and humidity is expected on Monday as southerly winds increase to around 10 to 20 mph with gusts to 30 mph. Expect high temperatures in the upper 80s and low to mid 90s. Late in the afternoon, showers and thunderstorms will begin developing in the north and west. Expect those showers and thunderstorms to push east and southeast across much of the Local4 viewing area Monday night. Some may linger into the first half of our day Tuesday. We are likely to see at least some severe weather Monday night, similar to what we saw during several nights late last week. Continue to monitor the forecast leading up to the event.

As mentioned above, some showers and thunderstorms may linger into Tuesday morning. By the afternoon, much of that activity should be gone. There will be a few more chances for showers and thunderstorms Wednesday and Thursday. We will enjoy some temperature relief for both Tuesday and Wednesday. For Tuesday we’ll see high temperatures in the mid 70s to mid 80s. On Wednesday we’ll see more upper 70s and lower 80s. It will start to warm up again on Thursday with highs returning to the mid to upper 80s and lower 90s.

Friday and Saturday will be mainly dry (for now) with more heat expected. High temperatures will mostly be in the 90s for these two days.
