Hastings dominate in doubleheader sweep over Grand Island

HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - The Hastings Five Points Bank Chiefs clicked on all cylinders in their home doubleheader sweep over tri-city rival Grand Island.

Hastings took game one, 8-0. Laif Hultine pitched a complete game shutout going 6.0 innings. He only allowed two hits as he struck out nine batters.

In game two, Jake Schroeder followed suit pitching 6.0 innings, allowing one run and striking out nine. Third basemen Mike Boeve continued his dominate season as he went 3-for-3 with 4-RBI as the Chiefs won 7-1.

The win improves them to 25-6 on the season. They are back home on Tuesday, July 28 hosting Norfolk in a doubleheader. First pitch set for 4 p.m.
