Vehicle and garage destroyed in afternoon fire

GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) - Firefighters in Grand Island stayed busy Tuesday, responding to not one but two fires within hours apart.

The first fire happened around 6 a.m. on west 11th. You can read more about that fire here.

The second fire occurred around 12:30 p.m. at a home at 1304 west North Front Street.

Grand Island Fire Battalion Chief Bryan Stutzman said the fire destroyed a detached garage behind the home, facing out on North Adams as well as a vehicle.

He said there was also some heat damage to nearby siding.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Nobody was injured in the fire.
