HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Scattered showers and thunderstorms will continue into Thursday, with the threat for severe thunderstorms remaining on the lower side. While the chance might be slightly better than today for some, these will still be hit-or-miss leaving some pleased to receive some beneficial rain while other completely miss out. Those in Southeast Nebraska and North Central Kansas will be one of the few areas hoping to miss out on rain as they have had a lot over the last week and a half. Showers and thunderstorms will start to wind down from north to south Thursday evening, with very little left after midnight. It’ll be a little cooler on Thursday with even more clouds around. Expect highs in the mid to upper 70s and lower 80s with the warmest temperatures in the northeast where rain chances are lower and some more sunshine is possible. Low temperatures will drop into the upper 50s and lower 60s early Friday morning as skies partially clear up.

Friday through Tuesday are projected to be mostly dry. I did include a slight chance of rain and thunderstorms Saturday. Friday will be a partly cloudy day with highs in the low to mid 80s. Expect similar high temperatures on Saturday. While skies are expected to be mostly sunny Sunday through Tuesday, temperatures may actually cool a few more degrees. Sunday and Monday both feature highs in the mid to upper 70s. Tuesday may be just a bit warmer in the upper 70s and lower 80s. Lows temperatures will mostly be in the mid to upper 50s and lower 60s. These are all below average for early August.
