Rain chances remain today, but really nice weather is ahead
HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Scattered showers and thunderstorms continue today, with the threat for severe thunderstorms remaining quite low. These scattered showers will be hit-or-miss. Those in Southeast Nebraska and North Central Kansas will be one of the few areas hoping to miss out on rain as they have had a lot over the last week and a half. This may be one area with a slightly better chance of picking up some higher amounts of rain. The best chances will be in southern and western portions of the Local4 viewing area. Showers and thunderstorms will clear out this afternoon and evening. It should be all gone by midnight with some partial clearing through the night. It’ll be a little cooler today with even more clouds around. Expect highs ranging from the lower 70s southwest to the lower 80s northeast where rain chances are lower and some more sunshine is possible. Low temperatures will drop into the upper 50s and lower 60s early Friday morning.
Friday and Saturday will be two of the warmer days of the forecast as high temperatures will be back in the low to mid 80s. Tomorrow the warmest temperatures will be in the west. On Saturday, the warmest temperatures will be in the south. Low temperatures Saturday morning will be some of the warmest we see in the week ahead, but only in the upper 50s and lower 60s. Friday will be a partly to mostly sunny day and likely dry. A chance of rain and thunderstorms returns on Saturday as a cold front passes through during the day.
Sunday through Tuesday will be absolutely ideal with temperatures comparable to what we see around here in September. We’ll see highs in the 70s (mostly mid 70s) and lows in the 50s. Monday will likely be the coolest day for most. Tuesday morning, it’s not out of the question somebody falls back into the upper 40s. Slightly warmer temperatures inch their way in by Wednesday as highs return to the upper 70s and lower 80s. A chance for rain and thunderstorms returns late Tuesday night into Wednesday.
