HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Hastings was hit with a quick downpour of rain on Wednesday leading to some flooded streets.

Hastings Police Sgt. Jason Haase said one vehicle left the road on 12th Street because of the water as well as poor driving.

He said it happened around 10:20 p.m. in the 4400 block of west 12th.

The driver, a male juvenile, was traveling westbound going 50 to 55 miles per hour when his vehicle became submerged.

Sgt. Haase said the engine was completely under water as well as some of the interior. He was able to get out of the vehicle without needing to be rescued.
