HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Expect partly cloudy skies as thunderstorm chances return Tuesday evening. There is some uncertainty as to how widespread rain will be, but there is going to be a chance of showers and thunderstorms Tuesday night into Wednesday morning. The risk for severe weather isn’t terribly high, although there’s a low-end threat in western parts of the Local4 viewing area for large hail and strong wind gusts. Lows by Wednesday morning will drop into the upper 50s and lower 60s.

Looking ahead to Wednesday, temperatures do start to warm up a little. There is a small chance of rain and thunderstorms in the morning, otherwise skies will be partly cloudy. Highs will range from the upper 70s east to the mid 80s west. There will be several slight chances for rain and thunderstorms through the rest of the work week, mainly at night. Meanwhile, temperatures will be warming up to near, then slightly above average. The weekend should be mainly dry, although stray thunderstorms might still exist for parts of the Local4 viewing area. As for the upward trend in high temperatures, here’s how they look toward the end of the week. For Thursday, highs will be in the mid to upper 80s and lower 90s. For Friday they will be in the upper 80s and lower to mid 90s. Expect a lot of low and mostly mid 90s over the weekend. Almost always, the warmest temperatures will be in the west.
