Grand Island men charged in sexual assault of a minor

GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) - Two Grand Island men who are registered sex offenders have been charged with the sexual assault of a minor following an incident at Mormon Island.

According to the Hall County Sheriff’s Office the incident happened July 27.

Authorities said they received a report that there was illegal activity involving adults and a 15-year-old boy at the campsite.

After investigating the situation further authorities arrested Angel Landera, 28 and Michael Nicewonder, 32, both of Grand Island.

Landera was charged with two counts of first-degree sexual assault on a child and one count each of human trafficking of a minor, aiding and abetting the sexual assault of a child, third degree, and obstructing a peace officer.

Nicewonder was charged with third-degree sexual assault of a child and contributing to the delinquency of a child.
