KPD receives grant for flashing pedestrian crossing enforcement

KEARNEY, Neb. (KSNB) - The Kearney Police Department has received a grant from the Nebraska Department of Transportation Highway Safety to conduct selective traffic enforcement in the areas of the flashing pedestrian crossing signals. These signals are located in the 1700 block of West 11th St., the 2700 block of 30th Ave. and the 4700 block of 17th Ave.

Officers will be enforcing all traffic laws in these areas. The enforcement activity will occur between Aug. 17 and Aug. 31. The department’s goal is to increase safety for both motorists and pedestrians.
