HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Wednesday is expected to be dry with just a slight chance of a stray shower or thunderstorm. With partly cloudy skies, expect highs to range from the upper 70s in Southeast Nebraska to near 90° out west. Look for lower 80s around the Tri-Cities. By Wednesday evening, expect showers and thunderstorms to again develop out west. Chances for rain and severe weather get lower the farther as you go east. There is a threat for severe weather in western parts of the Local4 viewing area. Large hail and damaging wind gusts are possible.

Chances for rain and thunderstorms get lower, but won’t be completely zero Thursday through Sunday. Meanwhile, temperatures will continue to warm back to the hot category. Highs on Thursday will mostly be in the mid to upper 80s, but could approach 90° way out west. Friday will be back above average for everybody with highs in the upper 80s and low to mid 90s with the hotter temperatures in the west. Everybody gets in on the heat this weekend with widespread 90s expected.

A slight chance for showers and thunderstorms returns Sunday night and Monday night. It might be just a little cooler, but still very warm on Monday with highs in the upper 80s and lower 90s.
