HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Hastings Police are sorting through details in an attempt to determine what, if any, arrests or citations will be made after a weekend incident where two people threatened one another with the same gun.

It stemmed from an on-going feud between two residents in the 3500 block of Parklane Drive about noise. A man and woman from separate apartment buildings were arguing Friday evening. The male, who was wearing a gun he was licensed to carry, threatened the woman with the weapon.

She went into her home and told her boyfriend what had happened. The boyfriend went outside and was able to physically take the gun from the first man. He then used the weapon to threaten the other man.

Afterward, the second man gave the gun to the girlfriend. When police were continuing their investigation later, she told them she had thrown the gun away.

The woman was cited for tampering with evidence. Any other citations or arrests are pending this time.
