Sodbusters hang on for win over Souris Valley

HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - The Hastings Sodbusters snapped their three-game losing skid beating Souris Valley, 9-8. The Sodbusters busted out to a six-run lead in the first three innings before making it interesting down the stretch.

Hastings scored six-runs in the second inning. Efry Cervantes’ 3-RBI double paced the inning. Mike Boeve continued his strong play for the Sodbusters with three hits to increase his batting average to .400.

Jeremy Schneider started for Hastings going 6.0 innings allowing four-earned runs. Hastings native, Jake Schroeder came in relief going 3.0 innings, striking out four allowing just one run.

Hastings still trails Fremont by three games in the Clark Division. Sodbusters have eight games left in their season.
