Grand Island plant donates to state fair foundation
GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) - The Nebraska State Fair 1868 foundation received a $20,000 donation last weekend from the CNH Industrial plant in Grand Island.
In a press release issued Friday, the foundation said the CNH donation was to “assist in furthering the Foundation’s good works.”
Foundation executive director Lindsey Koepke also said, “This is so amazing to me since CNH Industrial and Case IH give so much already to our state fair. I mean, they provide tractors for our people movers, they provided combine rides with so many of their employees involved and now a $20,000 financial gift to the 1868 Foundation —it’s a little surreal.”
CNH Industrial plant manager Mike Schaefer said, “Our plant has been all in with the Nebraska State Fair since it moved to Grand Island in 2010. Because of our 55-year history in Grand Island and the Fair’s 150 years in the state it seemed like a perfect union to help celebrate agriculture in a big way.”
CNH Industrial’s involvement in the Nebraska State Fair has been shepherded by Andy Marsh of Grand Island. Although no longer involved with the CNH Industrial plant, day to day, he has remained the CNH Industrial/State Fair liaison all of these many years.
The CNH plant manufactures farm equipment including combines and various hay & forage equipment.
The Nebraska State Fair 1868 Foundation is a 501(c)3 organization whose mission is to raise funds for the future of the Nebraska State Fair.
