BROKEN BOW, Neb. (KSNB) - One person was killed and two others injured in a car-semi accident that occurred late Friday evening in Custer County.

According to a post on the Custer County Sheriff’s Department Facebook page, officials responded to the head-on collision of a 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix and a 2015 Freightliner truck hauling vehicles on Highway 2 one mile west of Berwyn.

The car was driven by Erica C. Morgan, 19, of Gibbon. Morgan was killed in the accident.

The driver of the truck and a passenger in the truck received minor injuries.

The drivers of both vehicles were wearing seat belts.

Broken Bow Fire and Rescue, Ansley Fire and Rescue, the Nebraska State Patrol and Custer County Sheriff’s office all responded to the accident which closed Highway 2 between Broken Bow and Ansley for about five hours.
