HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - A cold front has pushed through the area and will continue on south of the area today. Behind it will come strengthening north northwest winds of 15 to 25 mph. Gusts could approach 35 mph. High temperatures on Wednesday will range from the mid 60s north to the mid 70s south. Winds will quickly die down this evening. A colder night with clear skies is expected tonight. We’ll see lows in the mid 30s northwest to the mid 40s southeast.

Thursday will be a sunny and breezy day with cooler high temperatures. Highs will range from the mid 50s north to the mid 60s south. Winds will pick up up to between 10 and 20 mph out of the north northwest. With winds dying down tomorrow evening, Thursday night into Friday morning is expected to be our coldest night and the best potential for more widespread frost. We’ll see lows in the low to mid 30s. Plan on taking care of any tender vegetation that you would like to see survive for awhile longer.

Friday is expected to be a partly cloudy day. After the colder start, it’ll be pretty decent in the afternoon with highs back into the mid 60s northeast to the lower 70s out west. Another cold front will dive south Friday night into Saturday. This one brings us our only chance, albeit a small chance for some light rain late Friday night and early Saturday morning. Highs on Saturday will be a little cooler than Friday. Highs will range from the upper 50s north to the upper 60s south. Expect breezy winds.

Saturday night into Sunday morning will be chilly again with patchy frost. Look for lows in the mid to upper 30s and lower 40s. Sunshine returns Sunday and winds will be lighter as highs will be in the upper 50s northeast to the mid 60s southwest.

Warmer temperatures will be return much of next week as highs in the 70s and 80s make their return. Dry weather will continue.
