HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - The Hastings College football team is coming off its bye week riding a three-game losing skid after winning its first game of the season.

During the bye week, Coach Tony Harper shook up the depth chart by having one’s play with two’s and vice versa. Coach Harper said it helped by giving back-ups opportunities to prove themselves and light a fire under the starters.

“We tell our guys its a job interview every single day," Harper said. "You got to come to work, and I know we’re playing a game and everything like that, but you have to prepare like this is your profession. If you’re not preparing there should be somebody behind you that’s preparing more than you to take that job. It shows our guys not to get comfortable. It also shows our guys who are two’s and three’s, hey we’re always watching. We’re always grading film. So, those guys should push the buttons a little bit because they never know when that next man up is going to be called.”

Broncos host win-less Briar Cliff this Saturday, Oct. 24. Kick-off set for 1 p.m.
