HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - After a day getting into the 60s, we’re going to have a brief cooldown. There is a cold front slowly advancing south, but won’t affect us as much overnight as it will in the day tomorrow. Lows tonight will be in the 20s for most of Western Nebraska, and around freezing for the Tri-Cities and Eastern Nebraska. Highs in the afternoon will feel the affect of the cold front, only reaching the 40s for the Eastern two-thirds of the state. Southwest Nebraska and the Panhandle will make a run to the mid 50s.

Beyond tomorrow, sunshine is expected every day from Friday through Tuesday. Friday will feature a bit of a warm up with highs from the mid 40s northeast to the lower 60s southwest. A cold front will pass through the area from the northwest on Saturday. Behind that front, winds will turn a bit blustery out of the north northwest at 15 to 25 mph. Gusts could approach 35 mph. High temperatures could range from the mid 50s northwest to the mid 60s southeast. It will be cool enough Halloween evening that along with the wind, trick-or-treaters may be feeling a bit of a chill. Sunday will be a cooler, but sunny day. Highs will range from the mid 40s northeast to the lower 50s southwest. Monday will see a nice jump in temperatures with widespread 60s expected. Tuesday features another nice jump with highs into the upper 60s and lower 70s. There should be no weather related issues for election day.
