HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - It was a day to forget for the Hastings College football team as the Broncos fell to Northwestern 62-10 on a warm windy day on Lloyd Wilson Field.

The Red Raiders made life tough all day both on the offensive and defensive side of the ball. Northwestern took the first drive of the day and marched 75 yards in nine plays as Konner McQuillan plunged in from one yard out for the early 7-0 lead.

Following a Bronco three-and-out, Northwestern followed suit with another nine play drive covering another 75 yards with Tyson Kooima hitting McQuillan for another touchdown and the 14-0 lead.

Hastings struggled most of the day and even when the defense got a stop in the second quarter, their punter Jaden Snyder with the help of the wind blasted an 84-yard punt for a touchback.

Late in the game, Jason Bachle (SO/Grand Island, NE) was put in a position to make a 31-yard field goal to get Hastings on the board in the fourth quarter. With time running out, Jesse Ulrich (SO/Ord, NE) connected with Keoitey Stenhouse at the Red Raider 2-yard line where Ulrich would to the rest plunging into the endzone for the touchdown as Hastings fell 62-10.

Hastings finished the game with 223 total yards compared to 564 for Northwestern. Ulrich led the ground attack with 53 yards on 12 carries and a score. Stenhouse led the receivers with 58 yards on five catches.

Tydus Clay (JR/Conroe, TX) led Hastings with seven total tackles while Max Ruppert (JR/Highlands Ranch, CO) finished with six.

Kooima led Northwestern through the air going 18-for-26 for 221 yards and three touchdowns. He also rushed for 79 yards and a score.

Hastings falls to 2-5 on the year and will be back in action Saturday Nov. 14 hitting the road to take on Dordt with kick-off set for 1:00 p.m. in Sioux Center, IA.
