State Football Championship sites and times announced
The Class A through Class D2 State Championship games won’t be played at Memorial Stadium this season
HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - On November 13, the Nebraska State Activities Association announced that the State Football Championships would not be played in Lincoln at Memorial Stadium on November 23rd and 24th.
Class A, B, C1, C2, D1, and D2 had played their title games at Memorial Stadium in the past, but due to the pandemic the NSAA decided it was best to not have everyone gather in Lincoln.
Instead, the top seed remaining in each class will host their State Championship game on November 20.
“I think it’s going to bring a lot of excitement to certain towns. Of course if you are unlucky and have to play on the road for a state championship that’s unfortunate, but we thought this was the best way to do it," NSAA Executive Director Jay Bellar said. "I do feel bad for the kids that don’t get that experience to play at UNL because that’s huge. They love that, they talk about that a lot and hopefully next year we can go back to playing at UNL.”
The Class D6 Championship Football Game will proceed as scheduled in Kearney at Cope Stadium on Friday, November 20th.
Here are the State Championship games, along with where and what time they will be played on Friday.
