Danielson bringing energy to Tiger program
Hastings boys basketball gears up for season with a new head coach
HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - The Hastings High boys basketball team is entering a new era as Drew Danielson begins his first season as head coach.
The Tigers are coming of their best season since 2004 but they lost seven seniors from last year’s roster.
With a new head coach and new faces ready to lead, a change is coming for the program and Coach Danielson plans to bring a whole lot of energy to it.
“On the sideline, I’m going to coach with passion and I expect our kids to play with passion,” Coach Danielson said. “So, having a passionate approach about it, having a purpose, having energy, having five guys on the floor that share it and love each other.”
“Coach Danielson brings energy every day and that’s what he expects us to do as well,” Hastings senior Jarrett Synek said. “On offense, we want to get up and down as fast as we can go because we’re not as big as we were last year. So, we just want to go up and down and make other teams follow our tempo.”
Hastings opens up the season at home this Thursday, Dec. 3 hosting Seward.
