Patriots return size and experience from last year’s third-place team
Adams Central girls basketball aims for third-straight trip to State Tournament
HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - The Adams Central girls basketball team is coming off a third-place finish. It was the second best season in school history.
They only lost two seniors from that roster and this season the Patriots once again only have two seniors.
Adams Central has a lot of experience playing in big moments. They made the State Tournament the past two seasons and most of the players are coming off playing in the State Volleyball Tournament this fall.
Head coach Evan Smith said they will use that experience on the big stage, as well as the size they have down low to their advantage this season.
“Our primary focus will be getting the ball inside,” Coach Smith said. “Force people to have to guard us inside and then work the outside game from there. So, I think our length will be a problem for a lot of teams which will be good for us.”
“I think we have the experience,” Adams Central senior Caitlyn Scott said. “We can focus on how we’re playing and how we can make each other better and how we can compete and how we can try to win the games.”
Adams Central opens its season at home this Thursday, Dec. 3 against Aurora.
