HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Adams Central boys basketball brings back four starters from its team that finished third in Class C-1 with a record of 26-2.

The Patriots lost last year’s leading scorer in Gavin Lipovsky (11.9 PPG) but return their next four top-scorers: Cam Foster (11.8 PPG), Tyler Slechta (8.8 PPG), Lucas Bohlen (7.7 PPG) and Dante Boelhower (7.0 PPG).

Not only do the Patriots return experience, they return guys who know how to play on the big stage after the football team just played in the Class C-1 championship game.

“A lot of these same guys were playing in football,” Cam said. “We’ve been in a lot of big games. Semifinals in the last two football seasons. Then semifinals in basketball. We know how to play in the big games and we’ll carry it into this year.”

Coach Zac Foster said in a year as strange as 2020, so much senior leadership will be key to get off to a fast start this season.

“If you have experience in any season it’s important but especially this season with everything that’s around it,” Zac said. “Having four returning starters, four senior starters that have played a lot of basketball together is a huge advantage.”

Patriots open up their season Thursday, Dec. 3 hosting Aurora.
