HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - A Hastings man is in jail after a Sunday-night incident where a man was threatened with a knife at a Hastings motel.

Hastings police said the incident happened about 6 p.m. Sunday night at the Rainbow Motel. They said 44-year-old Gustavo Uriarte-Velasquez walked into a motel room claiming to be a federal agent from Mexico. He allegedly said he was investigating a cartel. Police said Urirarte-Velasquez pointed a knife at the man’s stomach. The man fought back, punching Uriarte-Velasquez. Uriarte-Velasquez then fled the scene.
