2020 Days of Christmas making up for loss of Christmas Past & Present
Events fill December’s calendar to keep community engaged, provide activities
GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) - Stuhr Museum has been incredibly proactive, fluid and engaging throughout the COVID-19 pandemic and that couldn’t be more apparent as 2020 Days of Christmas carries on.
The museum has changed its days of operation to Wednesday - Saturday in order to utilize the space and resources more efficiently but also a safety precaution for guests of the museum.
With no Christmas Past & Present in Railroad Town this year, Stuhr Museum’s premier, annual event, the staff has instead filled the calendar with 2020 Days of Christmas. Each Thursday - Saturday bringing a lineup of activities to engage with; whether that be in-person or virtually.
The full schedule to those events can be found HERE.
On the second floor of the Stuhr Building, attendees can find the Fantasy of Trees exhibit, a yearly staple to the museum. Traditionally the museum sets up 100 trees on both levels of the building. However this year, to increase distance between trees, the museum only called for 50. Trees were designed and donated by local nonprofits, groups at various schools or businesses and a variety of organizations.
The Fantasy of Trees can be viewed in-person on one of the days Stuhr is open to the public or can also be found virtually.
People can visit the museum’s homepage to find links to hours, days of operation and virtual content.
