School district to buy Principal building
GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) - A spokesperson Friday confirmed that the Grand Island School Board has approved a purchase agreement to buy the Principal Financial Building at 3025 College Street in north Grand Island.
The spokesperson said a contract was expected to be signed Friday.
Previously, Superintendent Tawana Grover said the trend toward “hands-on and experiential” requires additional space.
“The location and price as well as the building layout could provide long-term potential for the district,” said Virgil Harden, GIPS Chief Financial Officer.
The district wants more space to provide additional programming in areas where they need it. They see opportunities for growth in early childhood, middle school and high school.
