Two arrested in Kearney gas station robbery
KEARNEY, Neb. (KSNB) - Two people were arrested following an armed robbery in Kearney.
Kearney police said the incident happened at the Kwik Stop, located at 414 2nd Ave. South just before 1:28 a.m. on December 30.
According to KPD a male suspect threatened the clerk with a handgun and demanded he open the cash register. The suspect then departed south on 2nd Ave. in a Ford Explorer.
Law enforcement from nearby areas were notified of the incident and at approximately 1:49 a.m. a Minden police officer located a matching vehicle.
The Franklin County Sheriff’s Department assisted with a traffic stop and two adult occupants were contacted and detained.
KPD officers arrived on the scene and placed both subjects in custody.
Jeremiah Kresser, 23, of Grand Island was arrested for robbery and use of a weapon to commit a felony, and Angela Kresser, 51, of Grand Island was arrested for robbery.
The Kearney Police Department was assisted by members of the Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office, Minden Police Department, and Franklin County Sheriff’s Office on this case.
Grand Island police said the male suspect is also a possible suspect in the Pump and Pantry robbery that took place early Tuesday morning on E Highway 30.
