HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - After a stretch of gloomy, chilly days, we’re going to have a few warm days to start out the week.

By Monday, the clouds will be all out of our area and we’ll see temperatures creeping up into the upper 40s across parts of Central Nebraska, and maybe even some 50s towards the sand hills. 50s to our south as well in northern Kansas. Tuesday will likely see temperatures warming up into the low 50s across the area. Sunshine will continue with some high clouds, and clouds will increase into Wednesday.

Highs on Wednesday could be close to 60°, although at this point I’m still holding off in the upper 50s. Lows into Thursday morning won’t drop below freezing for the first time in several weeks. The afternoon will be a bit cooler into the low fifties with breezy conditions, winds gusting upwards of 20 mph.

By the end of the week sunny conditions will continue with intermittent clouds into the weekend, Friday being the cooler day in the mid-40s, and warming up into the 50° range for Saturday. longer range models are projecting that there could be a trough which digs in during the early part of the following week, which could bring our temperatures back down closer to average in the thirties.
