TestNebraska sites closed for holiday, cold weather
HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Some Test Nebraska sites will be closed on Monday in response to the extreme cold the area has been experiencing and, as well as for the Presidents Day federal holiday. The closings below are due to inclement weather and projected extreme low temperatures unless otherwise indicated. Oakview Mall will remain closed through Tuesday due to a heating issue.
Those registered for testing should regularly check messages for updates, as notification via text or email will be sent in the event of a change.
The following testing sites will be closed Monday.
Bassett – Rock County Fairgrounds
Burwell – Loup Basin Public Health Department
Chadron – Chadron Community Hospital
Fremont – Christensen Field -- in observance of Federal Holiday
Grand Island – Central District Health Department -- in observance of Federal Holiday
Lexington – Lexington Service Building
McCook – Red Willow Fairground
North Platte – West Central District Health Department -- in observance of Federal Holiday
O’Neill – O’Neill Armory
Omaha – Oakview Mall
While weather and the holiday may impact testing to some extent, Nebraskans are encouraged to register for testing. Visit the Test Nebraska website for details on your preferred location. Free testing is available to any resident wanting one. Those who may have been exposed to COVID-19 or who are experiencing any symptoms are encouraged to schedule an appointment at one of the more than 60 Test Nebraska sites.
COVID-19 symptoms can include a fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, tiredness, muscle aches, headaches, loss of taste or smell, sore throat, runny nose, nausea or vomiting, and diarrhea.
