Grand Island teen arrested for possession of loaded gun

GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) - A Grand Island teen was arrested after police found a loaded firearm in his possession. The incident happened Monday near the 700 block of East 11th Street.
According to Grand Island Police, an officer pulled a vehicle over for a traffic violation, and immediately smelt the odor of marijuana, prompting the search.
Police said that’s when one of the passengers, a 15-year-old boy, was found with a loaded firearm concealed underneath his seat.
Police said the teen was currently on probation and is prohibited to have such a firearm.
The juvenile was arrested and then cited and sent to a detention center.
Two females, 18 and 19, were also cited for minor in possession.
