HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Wednesday will be a mostly sunny day with lighter winds. It will be cooler, but not cold with highs in the upper 30s and low to mid 40s. Thursday may be slightly warmer than Wednesday with mostly sunny skies and highs in the low to mid 40s. Friday may be just a few degrees warmer, reaching the mid to upper 40s and lower 50s. Winds may be just a bit breezier. Besides today, Saturday will be one of the warmer days this week, topping out in the upper 40s to upper 50s from northwest to southeast. Most of these days will be mostly sunny.

The next chance for moisture will come later Saturday night into Sunday morning. Forecast models are backing off of a bigger system, so for now, we’ll just go with a slight chance for a wintry mix of precipitation. Temperatures should be terribly cold with highs in the upper 30s and low to mid 40s.

A better chance for moisture may come heading into the first two days of March. A low pressure system is expect to move into the Central Plains from the southwest later in the day Monday into Monday night, possibly lasting into the day Tuesday. A decent chance for moisture is expected, but what form that moisture takes is still uncertain. This will depend on how much colder air moves in with this system. Some models do keep us warm enough for more rain than snow. There’s still a lot to figure out with this upcoming system. We’ll share more as we get closer to early next week.
