GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) - A Grand Island man was arrested over the weekend after police said he broke his girlfriend’s jaw.

According to Grand Island police, officers were called to CHI Health St. Francis after a 19-year-old Grand Island woman was admitted to the ER with a broken jaw and multiple injuries to her face and neck

Police said the woman’s boyfriend, Mickey Baker, 30, of Grand Island told them he and the victim were jumped at a bar. When Baker could not provide officers with the name of the bar or a description of who jumped them they further questioned the woman, who admitted to Baker choking and hitting her.

Baker was arrested for strangulation, first-degree domestic assault, tampering with a witness, false reporting and procuring alcohol to a minor.
