Lopers complete perfect homestand with sweep over Tigers
UNK volleyball sweeps Fort Hays State for fourth straight win
KEARNEY, Neb. (KSNB) - UNK volleyball won its fourth straight game sweeping Fort Hays State (25-22, 25-14, 25-11). The game ends a perfect three-game homestand for the Lopers were they did not drop a set.
UNK trailed 9-4 early in the first set perfect cruising to its third straight sweep. It was a balanced attack for the blue and gold as Bailee Sterling and Gracie Stienike led the team with four kills.
“I think Hays is a step forward from where they were last year and I think we might have beat them worse tonight,” UNK volleyball coach Rick Squiers said. “That probably is a good sign even though we have a lot of things to work on.”
“I mean we started out a little slow and then once we kind of got into the rhythm we just kept going and played our game,” Senior outside hitter MK Wolfe said. “Made few errors. So that really helped us and served tough and passed well.”
Lopers get a week off before hitting the road next Saturday, March 27th. They play a doubleheader against Missouri Southern and Central Missouri in Topeka, Kansas.
