HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Anthony Sabatka signed his Letter of Intent to walk-on for the UNK football team. Sabatka had a standout senior season for the Bluehawks. As a team captain, he had 121 tackles and averaged 20.2 tackles a game.

Sabatka received interest from Midland, Hastings College and other local NAIA schools but ultimately decided to head to Division II program UNK.

“This was the highest level of play that I was going to be able to play,” Sabatka said. “So I just took initiative and I’m kind of betting on myself a little bit here walking on. I’m just really excited to go out and show what I’m capable of. Basically, be in that fight every day.”

Sabatka said he expects to play linebacker and be a blocking tight end as he works to get a role on the team.
