KEARNEY, Neb. (KSNB) - The Nebraska-Kearney volleyball team is 10 games into its spring season. The 16th-ranked Lopers hold a record of 8-2 with nearly four weeks until the MIAA Spring Invite.

With only six games left on its schedule, head coach Rick Squiers said the team is conflicted about what they are doing competing out each night with no NCAA Tournament and no stats counting for players and coaches.

“As much as you’re playing hard and competing, this is still just not what you really would like for it to be,” Squiers said. “There’s probably that little thread of just feeling odd about everything and wanting to get to a fall where it actually is normal again. So, I credit my team for handling that.”

He went on to say his team knows this season is not the same but credits UNK for holding a “game-like” atmosphere for fans to have this spring.

The Lopers’ next games are this Saturday in Topeka, KS when they play a doubleheader against Missouri Southern and Central Missouri.
